Emergency Directive 20 - Court Update for Evictions

COVID-19 Resource Center,

Chief Justice Beasley issued Emergency Directive 20 on June 20, 2020. Under this directive, summary ejectment and eviction hearings can be scheduled up to 30 days from the original filing date instead of the traditional 7 business days.

So, what does this mean for your filings? Unfortunately, there are so many follow up questions to determine your specific situation, that there isn’t one easy answer. If you have questions about any of your summary ejectment or small claim eviction complaints, we recommend contacting an attorney. If you are in need of an attorney, we have several TAA members who offer attorney services.
