The EPA Clean Air Act section 608 specifies that technicians must be certified in order to purchase or work with refrigerants used in most comfort-cooling and low-temperature applications. This is a completely online training and testing session.  The exam is a 2-hour closed-book test that must be observed by a registered test proctor.

Upon registration, you receive study materials and link to practice exam.

8am – 11am Session One is the 3-hour review. IMPORTANT you will not pass the exam just by attending the review session. Read and study the material and take the practice test ahead of time.

12pm – 2:30pm Session Two is the closed-book exam. Each test candidate must have a computer that has a functioning web-camera and microphone.  They will need a private space with no disturbances for the 2-hour exam. The proctor will need to see the space through your camera and also a photo ID before you begin. Immediately upon completion of your exam the results will be provided to you. Your certification card is mailed the following business day.
