Anyone who is a member of their local affiliate with proof of membership can attend the CAPS credential program at the TAA member rate.
The Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) credential course was developed for Regional/District Managers, Maintenance Directors, Mid-Upper Level Management, Marketing Directors, and those aspiring to move to that level. Industry experience requirement is either CAM, ARM, RAM with 2 years of apartment management experience OR a Property Supervisor with 2 years of multi-site experience.

NOTE: The CAPS credential program exam is taken in a proctored or via Live Online Proctor (LOP) environment.

About Your Facilitator:
Alex Jackiw is the Chief Operating Officer at Hayes Gibson Property Services. She previously served as the Chairman of the Board for the National Apartment Association (NAA) and is a current board member and past chair of the Virginia Tech Property Management Advisory Board. Additionally, she is a board member and past president of the Ball State University Property Management Advisory Board. Alex is a licensed real estate broker and holds the Certified Property Manager (CPM®) and Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS®) credentials. She also possesses a Master's Degree in Education.
Her experience encompasses the management of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) communities, HUD-regulated properties, purpose-built student housing, conventional market-rate properties, full-service retirement communities, and nursing homes. Alex is skilled in all aspects of property and asset management, including marketing, training, consulting, troubled property turnarounds, and new business development.
A respected industry speaker, Alex has presented programs to trade groups throughout the U.S. and Canada. She remains actively involved with the NAA and has served as a subject matter expert for the rewrites of the CAM, CAM Student, and CAPS credential programs.
In 2018, Alex was inducted into the National Apartment Association Hall of Fame. As a lifelong learner and industry educator, she established the NAAEI Alexandra Jackiw Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship Fund to provide professional development opportunities for individuals who are members of racial/ethnic minority groups, as well as those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or have disabilities.
