President's Pen, Winter 2025

Posted By: Franklyn Rodriguez the ApartMentor,

As I prepare to close our my term as President of the Triangle Apartment Association, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude and pride for the accomplishments we achieved together in 2025. This year challenged us, inspired us and ultimately strengthened the foundation of our association. Leading this organization has been one of the greatest honors of my professional career, and I remain humbled by the trust you placed in me.

Our success this year was not defined by one program, one event or one initiative—it was defined by the collective heartbeat of a membership committed to elevating the multifamily industry. Every owner-operator, supplier partner, onsite professional, committee volunteer and board member contributed to a year marked by strategic growth and meaningful progress.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to:

The TAA Staff - Your professionalism and your unwavering commitment to excellence brought every program, event and initiative to life.

The Board of Directors - Your leadership, insight and strategic oversight ensured we remained aligned, focused and forward-thinking.

Owner-Operators & Property Teams - Your dedication to providing quality housing across the Triangle is the backbone of our industry.

Supplier Partners - Your Innovation, energy and partnership elevate every aspect of the TAA’s work. You are essential to our success.
Volunteers & Committees - Your contributions—often behind the scenes—are the true engine of this association’s progress.

TAA-PAC Supporters - Your personal contributions strengthened our advocacy efforts as we endorsed candidates and politicians working to partner with our industry. Thank you for the incredible support of over $39,000.

200,000 units! As I was writing this article, we learned that TAA now has over 200,000 units in its membership! What an incredible accomplishment and a testament to the Triangle’s and the association’s growth.

I wanted to express my sincere gratitude to Blue Ridge Companies for giving me the opportunity to begin this leadership journey and for their unwavering support during the early part of the TAA Board and halfway through my presidency.

Their dedication to professional growth and industry service played a meaningful role in my ability to lead
with confidence and purpose.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Willow Bridge Property Company for continuing that support. Their confidence in me—and in the importance of this presidency—allowed me to finish the year with strength, clarity and pride. I am deeply grateful to both organizations for their encouragement, resources and trust throughout this milestone year.

To our incoming President, I want you to know this:

The strength of the TAA does not rest on one person— it rests on the collective leadership of every member who believes in our mission. But you will guide that energy. You will shape the vision. And you will chart the path forward. I offer you my full support. The members of TAA are in exceptional hands.

As I write this final message, I am reminded that our association’s true strength lies not only in the program we offer or the achievements we celebrate—but in the people who bring this industry to life. The conversations during events, the collaboration in committee rooms, the laughter shared at socials, the collective problem-solving during challenging moments—all of these experiences shaped a year I will never forget.

Though my term as President concludes, my commitment to the Triangle Apartment Association remains steadfast. I will continue to stand beside this association, supporting, celebrating and championing the incredible work we do to serve our communities and our residents.
