Crayons2Calculators Needs Your Help!
TAA's Public Relations and Community Outreach committee has organized many “Back to School” drives in recent years. We know that 2020 has presented quite a few challenges for us all, but the need to give back to our community is still ever present.
One of the organizations the PR Committee has previously worked with is Crayons2Calculators. They are a local organization that serves the educational and creative needs of students by providing free school supplies to classroom teachers through generous donations of financial sponsorships and supplies from the community. With the students being out of school since March, they have distributed school supplies directly to students' homes by way of the school district as many did not have the basic school supplies at home to complete their assignments. They were able to provide over $10,000.00 worth of school supplies to families during COVID-19!
They are counting on us to come together again this summer to rally around teachers and students as they navigate the challenges of transitioning back to school. There are a few ways to help!
- Purchase school supplies online and have them shipped to their warehouse (808 Bacon Street Durham, NC 27703)
- Purchase items in stores and call to arrange a drop-off time
- Make a monetary donation to support the work that Crayons2Calculators does year-round
